Join One River School of Art for a day of drop in creative workshops focused on painting, drawing, digital art, and more. Learn what the school is all about, take a tour, meet the educators and participate in fun activities for kids and teens. 

Schedule of Workshops:

TEEN ART SHUFFLE
12:45pm - 1:45pm
Grades 6-12
Our signature teen art program enables students to become well-rounded artists by encouraging experimentation with a variety of media. In this workshop, students will complete a project that explores colored pencils while receiving hands-on instruction from one of our experienced educators.

FOCUS ON STREET ART (6 – 12)
12:45pm - 1:45pm
Grades 6-12
Working with a range of media, from spray paint and acrylic paint to illustration pens and stencils, students will experience the versatility of street art firsthand. Students will exercise their creativity as they work to complete an artwork that utilizes techniques and draws inspiration from some of the most influential street artists in the world.  

FOCUS ON PAINTING (6 – 12)
2:00pm - 3:00pm
Grades 6-12
This workshop gives a solid foundation for students who are looking to familiarize themselves with acrylic painting. Students will complete an individualized artwork that strengthens their skills in color mixing, paint application, and texture development.  

KIDS ART SHUFFLE (3-5)
11:30am - 12:30pm
Grades 3-5
Our signature kids program celebrates creative expression through the exploration of a variety of media: sculpture, painting, mixed media, and drawing. In this workshop, students will both refine their technical skills and showcase their individuality as they work to complete a unique acrylic painting.

FOCUS ON DRAWING (3 – 5)
11:30am - 12:30pm
Grades 3-5
Students will explore the vast possibilities of the drawing medium and sharpen their technical skills. Through this guided workshop, students will begin to understand the principles of color, tone, texture, and value.  

KIDS DIGITAL ART SHUFFLE
12:00pm - 1:00pm
Grades 3-5
Students will develop a primary understanding of some of the fundamental features of Adobe Photoshop. Through this project, students will learn to demonstrate perspective and employ rendering techniques.

KIDS ART SHUFFLE (K-2)
11:30am - 12:30pm
Grades K-2
Students will experiment with clay and learn the fundamentals of sculpting to create their own individualized artwork. Students will be introduced to essential techniques, such as building an armature for their sculpture, to further their understanding of three-dimensional art making.
