Weekday Event Picks for NJ Kids: Nature Classes, Weeki Wachee Mermaids, November 2-6

Coming off that Halloween sugar rush, you may be rushing to find activities for this short week of school. Luckily, our November calendar is filling up. Relaxing theatrical performances are aplenty, including productions of The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe, Pinocchio & Other Tales and Berenstain Bears: Hospital Stories. Before the cold weather sets in, take advantage of nature exploration this week at Fall Preschool Nature Classes and Fall Mini Nature Camp. Northern NJ:
Evening Family Story Time (Tenafly)
Throw on the pjs, grab the stuffed animals and bring the family to Tenafly Public Library for a relaxing evening story time. FREE

Jersey Shore:
The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe (Long Branch)
The kids will adore this musical fantasy about children in war-torn England who discover a magical wardrobe. Recommended for ages 6-12, the show is held at Monmouth University’s Pollak Theatre.

What better way to spend a day off from school than exploring the great outdoors. Kids 8-12 will enjoy science experiments, hikes, nature play and games at Baldpate Mountain. Pre-registration is required.

Berenstain Bears: Hospital Friends (Morristown)
Everyone’s favorite bear family teaches lessons about good health and hygiene in this Walnut Street Theatre production based on the new Berenstain Bears book. The show is held at the Morris Museum and has both a morning and afternoon performance.

Southern NJ:
Weeki Wachee Mermaids (Camden)
Bring your Little Mermaid fans to Adventure Aquarium, and witness real, live mermaids doing underwater tricks and acrobatics. This extraordinary performance takes place all day through Sunday and includes mermaid meet and greet sessions.
