As the Common Ground website states, "campers will come home happy, dirty, and tired, full of stories of adventure and discovery." Children ages 4-5 will enjoy a combination of teacher-led activities and unstructured playtime. Their focus will be on seeing, hearing, touching, tasting and exploring the farm, while also enjoying music and stories, water games, and cooking with food from the garden. Children ages 5-8 will engage in fort building, nature arts, caring for farm animals, and many more hands-on activities.

Peabody Museum Summer Camps - New Haven
Campers in Grades 1-7 will find plenty of adventures to choose from. As of February 27, some camps are already full, but many are still available, such as Survival, which allows children to travel back in time 10,000 years and learn how ancient people survived. Astro Adventures, Bones & Stones: Peabody Anthropology Camp, Explorers Club, and Expeditions bestow upon children the thrill of nature while learning about plants, wildlife, geology, and more, all while enjoying interactive activities.

An-Se-Ox Girl Scout Camp - Oxford
This Girl Scout camp (also open to non-Girl Scouts and available at other locations) offers various options for budding ecologists. Every camper receives swimming instruction and girls entering grades 4 and up can try archery. Horse Fun offers aspiring equestrians lessons in caring and riding, while Trip to Mars provides insight into astronomy. Campers can also choose Camp Like a Girl and Girl Scout Survivor Camp to refine their outdoor living skills and explore the environment while making new friends.

Mad Science - Stratford
The goal of Mad Science is to offer a daily combination of classroom discovery and outdoor games involving physical activities. Children have the opportunity to use their senses and explore the world around them through touch, sight, sounds, smell, and taste. Offerings include Brixology (for grades 2-6), which provides lessons in aerospace and mechanical engineers, and encourages creativity to solve design challenges, while developing problem-solving and team-building skills. NASA Academy (for grades 1-5) explores the science involved in rocket construction, and children work together to build a model space station and complete a space mission.

Summer SEA Camps - New Haven
At  Schooner's Summer Sound Exploration and Adventure (SEA) camps, children ages 4-18 will enjoy water-based adventures, such as marine science, sailing, and kayaking. Campers will enjoy age-appropriate activities, such as exploring tide pools, beaches, and salt marshes (grades 1-2); taking daily expeditions into Long Island Sound habitats (grades 3-4); creating their own Long Island Sound Aquaria (grades 5-6); navigating and sailing around New Haven Harbor while participating in different science experiments (grades 5-7), and paddling along the shore and enjoying daily excursions in partnership with the University of New Haven (grades 7-12).

Cheshire Nursery School - Cheshire
This summer program is designed for children ages 3-6 who have not yet started 1st grade. Three two-week sessions are offered in July and August with the option to sign up for any or all of them. Activities include art, music, water play, science exploration, and outdoor play.
