1. Stop and smell the flowers

Head to the Spring BloomFest in North Andover. While Stevens-Coolidge Place is not hosting a Mother's Day picnic, you can still grab tickets to stroll the ground and admire the beautiful flowers.

2. Quack like a duck

Gather your little waddler(s) and head to the Boston Commons for Duckling Day. Inspired by the book Make Way for Ducklings by Robert McCloskey, each family can join hundreds of children parading through Boston’s most picturesque parks, dressed like characters from the story.

For women who have lost children to violence, Mother's Day is a poignant reminder of young lives lost. The Mother's Day Walk for Peace raises funds to help build peace in schools, supports families of homicide victims, and trains providers, faith leaders, and professionals working with youth impacted by violence.

7. Learn about extraordinary women

Is Mom a history buff? Travel back in time and spend the day learning about the amazing women that lived in the 19th century at Old Sturbridge Village.

8. Grab a cool treat while chilling with animals

If Mom has a sweet tooth, skip the fancy meals and head to one of these farms with ice cream stands instead. The kids will stay busy visiting with the animals so mom can have every last lick of her favorite flavor.
