The culmination of a residency at three of Houston’s Language Immersion Magnet Schools, this concert features three musical interpretations of folk tales presented for a young audience.

These pieces were written by local composers, and were inspired by folk tales originally from the languages taught in each Immersion School: Spanish (Wharton Dual Language Academy), Arabic (Arabic Immersion Magnet School), and Mandarin (Mandarin Immersion Magnet School).

On the Program:

Karim Al-Zand - Parizade and the Singing Tree (2001)

Eric Estrada - The Rabbit and the Moon (2025) (World Premiere)

Tian Qin - I am Kuafu. Kuafu isn’t Fu (2025) (World Premiere)
