The New England Carousel Museum

0

A visit to the Carousel Museum is a window into an important time in U.S. history. It provides a slice of Americana and tells the story of hardworking Americans, many of them immigrants, whose entrepreneurial spirit founded shops and left a legacy that the Carousel Museum remembers and celebrates today. These treasures from the past teach the history of these people and their world as they moved, worked, and played. The carousel is art, science, and technology in motion.

Beyond the sheer beauty of the carousel, how it works is every bit as important as its aesthetic appeal. The carousel utilizes a wealth of technology, which has evolved over time, to allow it to spin and enable the animals to move.

The Carousel Museum is dedicated to the acquisition, restoration, and preservation of operating carousels for the education and pleasure of the general public. Offerings include tours, birthday parties, special events, and educational programs.
