Visit Liberty Science Center’s new exhibit, Thomas & Friends: Explore the Rails, opening September 23, 2017. Designed for children ages two through eight, the exhibit combines exciting play with important concepts in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) and is great for a variety of learning styles. Children will thrill to the exhibit’s large settings of locations from the beloved TV series including Knapford Station, the Sodor Steamworks, and more.

Long Island Aquarium - Family Fun

This FINtastic destination features one of the largest all-living coral reef displays in this hemisphere, a 120,000-gallon shark tank, year-round sea lion shows, African penguins, marmosets, numerous touch tanks, and more than 100 exhibits including the lavish indoor gardens of the “Butterflies, Bugs, & Birds” exhibit. You can try one of the JAWsome Aquatic Adventures like the Shark Dive, where you’ll get in the cage and dive down into the amazing “Lost City of Atlantis” shark exhibit. Or the Penguin Encounter, where you’ll get up close and personal with adorable feathered friends. You can even snorkel with tropical fish from around the world with the Snorkel Adventure (seasonal). Celebrate your birthday at the aquarium—get free admission (with valid ID) within 7 days of your birthday. Massachusetts Horticultural Society

With 36 acres of open fields and meadows, streams and pools, wooded areas and formal gardens, there is plenty to explore at the Massachusetts Horticultural Society's Gardens at Elm Bank. <br />
<p>Weezie's Children's Garden is rated one of the top children's gardens in New England. It is designed as a series of small spiraling gardens, each with its own theme and unique way of engaging the senses, and includes a water feature, sandbox, pollinator garden, fair garden and vegetable garden. Children's programs and tours are available daily. The on site picnic area is the perfect spot for a relaxed snack.<br />

<p>Located at 900 Washington Street in Wellesley, the Gardens at Elm Bank are open Tuesdays through Sundays, May through October, 10 AM to 4 PM.
