Fun Things To Do With Kids This Weekend

With the snow and cold weather having left us, at least for the time being, this weekend presents a chance to get out and enjoy some winter activities. How about exploring the artistic "isms" at the Mattatuck Museum in Waterbury, having pancakes with penguins in Mystic, or taking in New England's largest youth volleyball tournament in Hartford. For those that are more outdoor inclined, tell Stories in the Snow or learn about how animals survive in winter.

Of course, the main theme this weekend is social justice, with events honoring the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. taking place throughout the state, including the Harriet Beecher Stowe Center and the Yale Peabody Museum, among many others.

With rain in the forecast on Saturday, make sure you check with any outdoor venue directly before setting out.
