Come celebrate Ridgefield’s biodiversity. A BioBlitz is an event that focuses on finding and identifying as many species as possible in a specific area over a short period of time. Visit different habitats and attempt to identify as many plants, animals, and fungi species.

Participants will take a trail walk to Weir Pond, stopping to investigate field, forest, and aquatic habitats. Each habitat station will have activities guided by expert naturalists and scientists including insect displays, pond scooping for invertebrates, looking under logs, learning about bears, and even an art station to make your own nature journal.
