Hawk Watch Celebration with Live Raptors from Christine's Critters

Sat Oct 16, 2021
11:00am ET
Age: All ages
Price: $15 per person
Location:
Greenwich Audubon Center

This year marks 50 years since hawk counting began here at the Greenwich Audubon Center and you are invited to come to celebrate this milestone! Come visit the Quaker Ridge Hawk Watch to learn about the spectacle of hawk migration and help hawk watchers spot migrating hawks, eagles, falcons, and vultures overhead.

To give you a special opportunity to see these amazing birds up close, Christine’s Critters will present two live raptor shows at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on the Hawk Watch Lawn. Raptor rehabilitators Christine & Betsy Peyreigne will be bringing an incredible cast of hawks, falcons, eagles, and owls to share the importance of these beautiful birds in our ecosystems. You will get to meet raptors big and small from Higgins the tiny Northern Saw-Whet Owl, a species now famous for being discovered in the Rockefeller Center tree, to Aurora the Bald Eagle with her seven-foot wingspan!

Attendees can sign up for ONE of the two raptor program times at either 11 a.m. or 1 p.m. Visitors are also welcome to assist hawk counters at Quaker Ridge Hawk Watch throughout the day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and to watch hawks with us every day through November 30th.

This IN-PERSON program has a limited capacity of participants and will be held entirely outdoors. All participants are required to wear a face mask covering for the duration of the program.

The buildings and facilities are still closed to the public, so we please ask that you plan accordingly as our restrooms will not be available.

For the Live Raptor Shows, tickets MUST be purchased in advance through our online ticket sales page (see links below). There will be no ticket sales at the door the day of the program. Please be prepared to show proof of your ticket registration, either as a printed copy of your registration receipt or your registration confirmation email on your phone.
