Fairfield Public Library "End of Summer" Celebration
This free, in-person event will feature an appearance by children's author Anna Crowley Redding, who will read from her latest book, Courage Like Kate: the True Story of a Girl Lighthouse Keeper. In addition to hearing this wonderful story of female empowerment, attendees at the celebration will receive special treats, participate in activities like button-making and airbrush tattoos, and have a chance to enter a prize raffle.
Kate Moore was a 12-year-old girl from Bridgeport, CT, in the 19th century when her father became incapacitated and Kate took over his lighthouse duties. During her time on Fayerweather Island, Kate saved 23 lives!
Come end a Fairfield-themed summer with this delightful locally-based story and some fun activities. When registering, please register as a family under ONE NAME.
