Things to Do with Kids in Chicago January 5 and 6: Actors' Story Time, Bob Marley Dance Party, Free Winter Gym Jam, Free Days at Brookfield Zoo and Chicago Children's Museum

Happy new year! The first weekend of 2019 is full of indoor and outdoor fun for Chicago kids. On Saturday, see kid-lit favorites brought to life at Story Time at Theater Y, or help create an ad-libbed masterpiece at the weekly Storytown Improv in Lakeview. Harry Potter fans will love being "sorted" and sent on adventures for Wizards, Wands, and Wildlife in Oak Brook. On Sunday, kids can work out all their winter crazies at the Rock and Roll Playhouse Bob Marley dance party, or at the FREE Winter Gym Jam in Glen Ellyn. The Brookfield Zoo is FREE all weekend, and the Chicago Children's Museum is FREE on Sunday.

It's your last weekend to catch some of Chicago's best holiday sights and lights, including ZooLights, the Wonderland Express, Winter Wonderfest at Navy Pier, and the holiday flower shows at the Lincoln Park Conservatory and the Garfield Park Conservatory. And if you haven't been to see the Science Behind Pixar exhibit at the Museum of Science and Industry, this weekend's your last chance, so make like Lightning McQueen.
