The Shedd Aquarium hosts family festivals on special days throughout the year, designed for kids ages 5-12 and their caregivers to see animals up close, explore hands-on activities, and get creative with take-home crafts.

Dates and themes:

April 14: Earth Day

May 12: Mothers and Caregivers

Day June 16: Fathers and Caregivers Day

Adults must attend with a child. One adult must accompany every five children under 18.

What is included: Two hours of family-friendly activities that celebrate the natural world. Meet a live animal, engage in hands-on science activities and make a craft to take home.

What is not included: Meals and snacks are not included. General admission to the aquarium is not included; admission can be purchased online or on site.
