Bring the whole family to the Alliance for a taste of France, right here in Chicago!

Step into the enchanting world of beloved 2012 French animated comedy-drama Ernest et Célestine. This screening is the first in a two-part series organized with young families in mind.

Themed children’s activities, guided by AF-Chicago’s Youth Programs staff, will be available in the Eleanor Wood Prince Salon throughout the program. Complimentary coffee, pastries, and healthful, kid-friendly snacks will also be provided.

About the Film

Based on the popular series of children’s books of the same name published by Belgian author and illustrator Gabrielle Vincent, sweet animated drama Ernest et Célestine portrays the friendship between an orphan mouse and a free-spirited bear.

Ernest et Célestine was selected to be screened in the Directors’ Fortnight section at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival, as part of the TIFF Kids programme at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival, and at the 2013 Hong Kong International Film Festival. The film received widespread acclaim, and became the first animated film to win the Magritte Award for Best Film. It was nominated for Best Animated Feature at the 86th Academy Awards.
