Weekend Fun for Boston Kids: Lights, Dancers, and Homemade Gift Making; Nov 25-26

Things to do with families in Boston this weekend

Growing up, my family didn't really start decorating for the holidays until mid-December. Now that I have a family of my own, I'm eager to get the lights and holly up as soon as turkey day is a wrap. Luckily, lots of holiday events are starting up this weekend, including the always popular Nutcracker (including Boston Ballet and Jose Mateo), A Charlie Brown Christmas, and ZooLights. Speaking of lights, Boston is getting just a little bit brighter with tree lightings in RoslindaleCambridge, and Elm Bank, where the Mass Horticultural Society sets 75 evergreens aglow this weekend. Annual displays like the LaSalette Shrine and Winter Reimagined are also sparking up for the season with miles of lights as well as music to dazzle spectators of all ages.

And if it all gets to be too much, relax and unwind with some mother-daughter yoga and creative gift making. Ahhh...
