Weekend Fun for Boston Kids, July 23-24: Mini Makers and Music Galore

Attention, parents of budding STEM fans! If you've been wanting to check out the Maker craze in Boston with your kids, a golden opportunity awaits at the Mini Maker Faire outside the Boston Children's Museum, where you might even catch a glimpse of BB8 or R2D2. Older kids into technology might also want to play with some sewn circuits, while nature-loving kids might prefer to get out and hunt for some insects. So many great options this weekend!

Young music fans like mine have their pick, too, with everything from the Duxbury Music Festival's Family Fest (pictured) to not one but two jazz festivals to CD release parties featuring Rolie Polie Guacamole and KB Whirly. Finally, for another great way to celebrate a summer weekend, hit the beach for the largest Sand Sculpting Festival around right on the Blue Line.

Also on Mommy Poppins Boston this week:

  • Feeling spooky? These 25 Things to Do in Salem include both witchy and non-witchy activities.
  • Open up the communication lines at home about race with these fantastic books for kids of all different ages.
  • Elyse shares the best ways to experience the water on the Charles River

Enjoy your weekend and don't forget to check out the full Event Calendar!
