Community Gathering for Racial Justice: Building Solidarity in Somerville

Wed Jun 11, 2025
7:00pm to 9:00pm ET
Age: 13 and up
Price: Free
Location:
Somerville Growing Center

This community-wide event invites Somerville residents to come together in reflection, dialogue, and collective action. Led by the RJC, the gathering centers on understanding the impact of anti-Blackness and systemic racism in local communities while creating space for honest, mixed-race conversations about race and justice.

Attendees will have the opportunity to connect across neighborhoods and sectors, learn more about the RJC's mission and work, and explore ways to collaborate on building a more just and resilient Somerville. The event also highlights upcoming opportunities for virtual training and dialogue.

Presented in collaboration with Labor Spring and the Urban Pastorals project, this is a welcoming space for anyone invested in community, regardless of whether they use words like “equity” or “inclusion.”

All are welcome to join and help shape the future of Somerville’s racial justice movement.

Supported in part by a Public Humanities/Community Engagement Grant from the Mandel Center for the Humanities at Brandeis University.
