No-kill cat shelter Good Mews is offering a Reading to Cats program that's designed to help students from grades 1-8 to practice their reading while helping to socialize shelter cats by reading books to them out loud. The program serves to help students strengthen their reading skills as well as provide an enriching experience for the cats. Organizers believe the interaction between children and cats teaches the importance of empathy and animal welfare. The sessions last 60 minutes and can accommodate up to 10 students and one parent or guardian.
