School may have started in Atlanta, but that doesn't mean that summer fun is over! August in Atlanta is a great time to enjoy outdoor movies and concerts, summer festivals, and cool events.

Family calendars are heating up in Atlanta! August brings lots of fun family events like the highly anticipated Encanto: The Sing Along Film Concert on Sunday, August 7 in Alpharetta and the always popular Dinosaur Birthday Bash at Fernbank on Saturday, August 20. Every August, the City of Kennesaw parties with their yummy event, Pigs and Peaches BBQ Festival, which includes music, a kids' zone, and of course, delicious barbecue (August 19-20).

Even as kids head back to school this August, there's still time for summer enjoyment on the weekends. Check out our list of Free Outdoor Movies in Atlanta and Free Atlanta Summer Concerts, or visit an Atlanta attraction like, The World of Coca-Cola, for some ice-cold, refreshing fun.
