Dana Point Festival of Whales 2021
- see all dates
50th anniversary Dana Point Festival of Whales is presented as a hybrid mix of in-person (with social distancing, mandatory masks, and attendance limits) and virtual events.
The Festival of Whales celebrates migrating whales who use Dana Point's headland as a landmark on their journey southward.
Whale watching excursions have been, and are expected to continue, operating out of Dana Point with COVID protocols in place to provide viewing in a safe and socially-distanced manner. Other festival events will be tailored to adhere to health restrictions and additions to the schedule continue to be made.
The website has a schedule of virtual and in-person activities.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to Covid, large group events (Parade, Concert & BBQ, Clam Chowder Cook-off, Cardboard Classic & Dinghy Dash, Sand Sculpting Contest, Ocean Awareness Day, Street Fair, Kids’ Fun Zone, Car & Boat Shows, etc.) are not being held this year.
