Kid-Friendly Shows & Acts at the Texas Renaissance Festival

It's the season for the Texas Renaissance Festival, and even though it's a bit of a drive, don't be intimidated by the idea of going with the kids. Not only is there a ton of games and activities, but there is a whole line-up of kid-friendly shows and entertainers your little ones will love. 

Use the festival map to find each of the stages listed below and map out how you want to spend your day. The festival and its themed weekends run through the end of November, so what are you waiting for - get on that costume and get in the car!

Shows

Globe Stage

Clan Tynker - 9:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m.
The Clan Tynker is a family of performers whose act includes juggling, comedy, magic, dance, sword swallowing, and more stunts.

Falconer's Heath

Fire Whip Show - 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m.
Trained entertainers showcase fiery performances with...fire. Be amazed by the daring tricks, whip-cracking, and stunts these experts can do.

Birds of Prey - 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m.
Watch beautiful birds soar in this free-flying bird show. You'll see falcons, hawks, eagles, owls, and vultures.

The Florentine Gazebo

Fool Hearty - 10:30 a.m., 2:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m.
These real-life professional Fools (clowns) entertain with colorful costumes, comedy, and charming characters.

The Nightingale - 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 3 p.m.
The Nightingale is a musical performance where the audience is invited to sing and dance along.

The Cloister and The Green

Children's School of Sword - 2:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m.
Kids learn the art of swordsmanship (don't worry, no real steel is used here) from a longtime tournament fighter. 

Cast in Bronze - 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m., 4 p.m., 5 p.m.
Cast in Bronze is a musical performance featuring a carillon, which is a large bronze instrument featuring bells and a keyboard. The haunting music will stay with you!

The Arena

The Joust - 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m., 5 p.m.
Watch a live-action reenactment of Medieval jousts on horseback.

The Odeon Stage

Arsene the Clown - 9:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m.
Arsene is a world-renowned clown who has performed around the country.

Titania's Bower Stage

School of Dance - 10:30 a.m., 2:30 p.m., 4 p.m.
Learn dances from ages past and watch performers show off their skills.

The Living Fountain - 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 1:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m.
Nature comes to life in The Living Fountain where a "statue" of a woman transforms into a beautifully choreographed act.
