Seneca Houses Children Still Need Your Help!

A HUGE thank you to everyone who has donated to help the children of Seneca Houses get the basic school supplies they need to start this school year. Through the generosity of Mommy Poppins readers we have raised almost $1000 worth of school supplies! Wow, I knew you guys were awesome!

But there is still more we can do. Yesterday I received these wonderful letters from some of the children with their school supply lists as well as the Pre-K supply list. I have added the items these children are asking for as well as the Pre-K list that I received.

Also, a corporate donation that had been promised for 75 backpacks fell through, so I am now trying to get backpacks for the kids. I am looking for a business that might be able to help us get the backpacks at a discount or for free, but I don't know if this will be possible.

If you would like to buy a backpack for a child please pick one from the Amazon Wishlist or if you donate cash through the PayPal donate button, I will use that money to buy backpacks and deliver them myself.

If you haven't had time to donate yet, please take a moment to read their letters and buy something from their wishlists. Thank you.

A HUGE thank you to the following individuals and companies that donated school supplies for the children here at Seneca Houses:

Ms. Lynne Bornstein Bermont
The Education Station, Inc.
Ms. Natalie Tal
Ms. Nancy A. Christensen
Ms. Marie Defant
Ms. Carrie Coakley
Ms Christine M. Fox
Ms. Courtney DeCristofaro
Ms. Evelyn Dugan
Boston Computer Group (or whoever purchased from there and had the supplies sent here since there was not a name on the invoice)
Ms. Anda Tal
Plexon (or whoever purchased from there and had the supplies sent here since there was not a name on the invoice)
Shoplet. com (or whoever purchased from there and had the supplies sent here since there was not a name on the invoice)
Restockit/Officesupplyit (or whoever purchased from there and had the supplies sent here since there was not a name on the invoice)
Ms. Elizabeth Barbosa
Fullfillment Center (or whoever purchased from there and had the supplies sent here since there was not a name on the invoice)

The generosity of all those mentioned above, and all of whom I have already thanked will not be forgotten. Donations came not only from New York, but also from Florida, Idaho, Iowa, Louisianna, and Massachusetts.

Last Thursday, supplies were given out to all of the children. Ms. Anna Fader and her wonderful children were here on-site putting supplies in bags and helping out as much as they could, we were definately honored and touched that they could take time out to come to our site.

Supplies continue to come in and we are preparing bookbags with the supplies to give to newly arrived families that are just settling in since families arrive as soon as other depart, which at times, is at a fast pace.

Again, thanks to everyone that donated.
