Great Movies for Kids: New York Children's International Film Festival
With the cold weather upon us, taking the kids to the movies sounds more and more tempting, but sometimes the regular kid movie options...not so much. Luckily, in New York City, you don't have to resort to the regular box office choices. We have some unique children's film opportunities right now to enjoy from the indie New York International Children's Film Festival to terrific classics at Big Movies for Little Kids, and more, below.
Tour the world through 100 amazing films from every corner of the globe. Programs are arranged by audience age and everyone gets voting ballots to select the festival winners. Tickets are on sale now and they say they are going fast. Tickets to the Shorts for Tots are especially popular and will sell out first. Also check out The Secret of Kells which was nominated for an Oscar and Kirikou and the Sorceress, a beautiful animated feature.
Big Movies for Little Kids is a film series for children aged 2 and up, every Monday (except holidays) at Cobble Hill Cinemas in Brooklyn. The series starts Monday, February 8th at 4pm with the Buster Keaton classic, Steamboat Bill, Jr., and continues with other classic films that parents will enjoy as much as their kids will. See the full line up and additional information at bigmoviesforlittlekids.blogspot.com.
