Tennis is a great sport for NYC kids. There are free tennis courts all over the city and you can play inside during the colder months. Now tennis is even more accessible to it's littlest players thanks to Elf Tennis and it's creator Esther Forrester. Esther, a former Division I college tennis player with over 10 years of experience teaching tennis to adults and children, has developed a new method of teaching tennis perfect for children as young as 3 years old.
What is the Elf Tennis secret? First they start with oversized foam balls and smaller nets to help smaller children get into the game and love it. But classes also focus on the 4 Fs: Fun, Fitness, Friendship and Fundamentals of tennis. Sounds like a winning combination to me.
Want to see what Elf Tennis is all about? On Sunday, March 30th at noon, ELF Tennis will be offering a free tennis demo that will feature games, music and giveaways as well as introduce their new way of teaching tennis at Congregation El Adereth, 133 E.29th Street. After the event you will be able to sign up for classes starting in April.
And exclusively for Mommy Poppins readers, you can win a series of 5 FREE tennis lessons at the E. 29th Street location! All you have to do is leave a comment on this post before Thursday March 27th at Midnight sharing your favorite sporty activity for NYC kids. We will pick one commenter at random to win the 5 free tennis lessons for a child aged 3-10.
