The Appalachian Mountain Club and the Prospect Park Audubon Center host local authors Cheryl and William de Jong-Lambert who will discuss their new book Outdoors with Kids New York City. This guide features 100 outdoor experiences in and around New York City, where families can hike, bike, paddle, play, swim, or simply run around.
While grown ups listen to the talk, kids will play “learn what’s in your pack;" explore a campsite; take part in a scavenger hunt and other games. Afterward, go on a naturalist-guided walk along the Waterfall Trail, where you’ll learn about the park’s network of waterways.
Outdoors with Kids New York City books will be available for sale. Event will occur rain or shine.
