J-CATION, Japan Society's annual day-long culture festival, kicks off with a taiko drum salute outside Japan Society's landmark building. This year's j-CATION theme is Sakura or cherry blossoms. Throughout the day there will activities, workshops & refreshments geared towards families including origami, calligraphy, traditional Japanese games and Kamishibai Storytelling (traditional storytelling transporting children to a springtime world filled with cherry blossoms -- recommended for ages 3-10 accompanied by an adult).
