I've been fascinated to learn how the brain's executive function challenges many kids in school and at home.

Holiday Gift Idea: 40 Years of Sunny Days DVD Set

Every once in a while I find something that I think is the absolute perfect holiday gift and want to give it to everyone on my list. This year my singular obsession is the new DVD created in celebration of the 40th anniversary of Sesame Street.

Sesame Street: 40 Years of Sunny Days is a 2 DVD box set of the best clips from every season of the famous children's show with over 4 hours of entertainment. From the amazing guest appearances to the fantastic animations, seeing the entire 40 year spectrum really makes you appreciate the incredible talent that has gone into this show and the amazing way that they seemed to always have a furry finger on the pulse of the times.

Grown-ups will love these DVDs for the nostalgia they will bring back. Kids will love them just cause they are timelessly entertaining. My own 6 and 9 year old loved watching them and I wish I had a little one again so I could give them a steady diet of these wonderful educational television shows.

Classic Sesame Street is the canon of educational TV. No child should grow up without it. I mean, how else will our children learn their ABCs, 123s and not to put bananas in their ears?
