Harlem Meer Performance Festival

Each Sunday afternoon, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm from June 16 - September 1, 2013, enjoy  lakeside music on the plaza of the Charles A. Dana Discovery Center in Central Park's beautiful north end.

Some chairs are provided, or bring a blanket and picnic lunch to enjoy the music from one of the Park's nearby lawns.

June 23  Orlando Marin – The Last Mambo King (Mambo)  Jazz, Latin, and Tropical sounds from the Last Mambo King

June 30  Howard Johnson (Tuba Jazz)  Music from one of the finest Jazz Tuba players in the World

July 7  Michela Marino Lerman & Friends (Rhythm Tap)  Internationally renowned tap dancing and jazz music

July 14  Los Soneros de Oriente (Cuban)  Cuban sounds from the countryside region of Son Montuno

July 21  Harlem Blues and Jazz Band (Jump Blues)  Lively music from the World's most authentic Swing Band

July 28  David P. Stevens (Contemporary Jazz)  A fusion of Contemporary Jazz, R&B, and Nu-Soul

August 4  Vanderlei Pereira and Blindfold Test (Brazilian Jazz)  Brazilian rhythms with dazzling technique and a distinctive touch

August 11  Nayibe la Gitana (Salsa)  Emerging sounds from the International Salsa Scene

August 18  Sweet Georgia Brown & Her Blues Crusaders (Blues)  Blues music from the Last of the Red Hot Mama's

August 25  Hilliard Greene and The Jazz Expressions (Jazz)  A mixture of classical, jazz, blues, and tango sounds

September 1  Ballet Hispanico's BHdos Company (Dance)  A fully costumed dance performance influenced by Spain and Latin America
