8 Holiday Shows That Suit Every Taste: The Nutcracker, Frosty, Sound of Music and More!

So you’re already sick of crowded stores and shopping-resistant children? Forget the mall!  Bring your kids to a wonderful performance this holiday season.  There really is something to satisfy every taste.  If you have young children, perhaps take in A Winnie the Pooh Christmas Tail or Frosty.  Older kids in your house? A Christmas Carol or the Sound of Music might be just the right fit.  When in doubt, there’s always The Nutcracker – a surefire hit.  Whatever you decide, here are eight great offerings to make your season merry and bright.

Looking to start the holiday season with a show?  How about one that combines both the characters from The Wizard of Oz and Christmas? Studio Theater Children’s Theater offers just that – Christmas in Oz. Tickets are $8.

In it’s 27th anniversary show, Theater Three’s take on the Classic Dickens’ tale is a holiday tradition for many.  Before or after the performance take a stroll down the beautifully decorated streets of Port Jeff. Tickets range from $14 (for children between 6 and 12) to $28 for evening performances.

Barnaby arrives at Theater Three Children’s Theater for the seventh year in a row.  Join Barnaby, Santa’s tiniest elf, and his reindeer friend, as they try to thwart the actions of  S.B Dumbelbury who’s intent on ruining Christmas. Tickets range from $14 (for children between 6 and 12) to $21.

The Hundred Acre Wood gang unite to help Eeyore find his tail.  Pooh, Tigger and Piglet make this holiday performance perfect for the younger ones in your family. Tickets are $9.

You don't have to catch the TV version to enjoy the story of Frosty with your kids. Tickets are $15.

The ever-popular Rodgers and Hammerstein musical including My Favorite Things and Do-Re-Mi will put you and your family in the holiday spirit. Tickets are $60.
