Win Tickets to Minions: A Despicable Opportunity!

6/18/15 - By Linda DiProperzio

One summer movie kids can’t wait to see is Minions, the prequel to the highly successful Despicable Me series. Most families have to wait until the film's release on July 10, but a handful of lucky Mommy Poppins readers can catch a sneak peek of these mischievous little fellows back in action at an advance screening hosted by our sponsor, Universal Studios, on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 11am at AMC Loews Lincoln Square. Want to surprise your kids with some free tickets?

Releasing in RealD 3D, Minions follows the evolution of these adorable, yet despicable, lackeys from their inception as single-celled, yellow organisms, and tracks them as they fail again and again to successfully serve history’s most evil dictators, from gigantic T. rex to diminutive Napoleon. The Minions find themselves bereft without a wicked being to command them; the natural born followers sink into a deep depression and just can't be happy until they find a new leader.

Kevin, Bob and teenage rebel Stuart, the three yellow friends, set off on a "hero’s journey" in search of a master to serve. They travel from frigid Antarctica to swinging London in the 1960s, and finally settle on the world’s first-ever female super villain, Scarlet Overkill (Academy Award® winner Sandra Bullock) as their new mistress of malevolence. Along the way, they must save Minionkind from total annihilation.

Families attending this special screening will have the chance to take photos in an awesome Minions photo booth before and after the screening, and each winner will receive a special Minions-themed gift, too. Entries must be completed by Friday, June 19, 2015. Winners will be randomly selected and notified via email on Monday, June 22, 2015. Each winner will be able to reserve up to four (4) seats and must be 18 or older to win.
