Weekend Fun For NJ Kids March 21-22: Spring Campfire, Frozen Ball & More!

Spring is officially here! Those days we've been dreaming of, filled with fresh flowers, afternoons at the playground, and sunshine are just around the corner! Lot of fun happenings in NJ this weekend: Celebrate Easter a tad early with an Easter Bunny Breakfast at Imagine That! Children’s Museum, dress up in your Anna & Elsa best for the Frozen Ball at Liberty Hall or take in a playful performance of Skippyjon Jones at Paper Mill Playhouse. And if you’re itching to get outdoors, check out the Earthcache Discovery Trail event at Liberty State Park, gather round a Spring Campfire at Tenafly Nature Center or head to Maple Sugar Sunday at the Miller-Cory House. Easter Bunny Breakfast (Florham Park, NJ)
All are invited to Imagine That! Children’s Museum for a special breakfast with the Easter Bunny. Bagels, juice and coffee will be served. All children will receive a special Easter basket before strolling in the Easter parade and going on an egg hunt before meeting the Big Bunny himself!

Saturday, March 21st

NJ Makers Day (Shrewsbury, NJ)
Celebrate Makers Day at the Monmouth County Library this Saturday. The kids can keep busy with lots of fun activities including Minecraft art, bug houses, robot design, BrushBots, paper sculptures and more.

Earthcache Discovery Trail (Jersey City, NJ)
Using handheld GPS, go on a virtual treasure hunt to discover the richness of the harbor estuary that surrounds Liberty State Park. Through the use of this technology, discover the estuary’s immense resources, how it was shaped, how to manage the resource and how it directly affects the quality of life.

NJ State Museum Story Time (Trenton, NJ)
In honor of National Astronomy Week, kids can listen to the picture book biography Look Up! that tells the story of Henrietta Leavitt, the woman who made discoveries that changed the study of our galaxy and the universe. Learn more about the stars after story time with a take home craft or a trip to the museum’s planetarium.

Skippyjon Jones (Millburn, NJ)
Skippyjon Jones is a little kitty cat with big ears and even bigger dreams. Sometimes he pretends to be a bird, a llama or a whale...anything but the  Siamese cat he is! Join in on his fabulous adventures in a delightful show at Paper Mill Playhouse filled with audience participation.

Spring Campfire (Tenafly, NJ)
Gather around the campfire at Tenafly Nature Center to explore how lengthening days and warmer temperatures affect plants and animals. Listen to stories and roast marshmallows for s’mores!

Sunday, March 22nd

Frozen Ball at Liberty Hall (Union, NJ)
It's always and forever going to be about Elsa and Anna. A Frozen-themed event that invites kids to make a craft, play games and warm up at a delicious hot chocolate bar packed with sweet treats.

Maple Sugar Sunday (Westfield, NJ)
All are invited to an afternoon about maple sugaring to close out the season at the Miller-Cory House Learn all about the sugaring process, check out open hearth cooking demos and take a guided museum tour.

Family Science Day (Montville, NJ)
All are invited to Pyramid Mountain for a fun Family Science Day. Kids will learn all about water and its importance while rotating through interactive activity stations.
