New York Family Classes and Activities Expo

Maybe it's because it's written and edited by real New York parents, rather than interns and corporate flunkies, but I believe the people there really know what the deal is and do their best to make things easier for us.

One example is their upcoming Classes and Activities Expos. This is a free event where you can learn about and meet the people from dozens of classes and programs for children aged 6 months to 12 years. You'll find after School programs, Mommy and Me, and Preschool classes in art, cooking, gymnastics, language, swimming, music, dance classes and more.

The guys at New York Family know what a maze it is trying to find the right classes and make it much easier by getting them all together for one stop shopping for us. But here's where they really show they get it. On top of all the useful information you can gather, they've created an event that you might want to go to even if there was no expo. They'll have a professional photographer doing free family portraits, face painters, and goodie bags.

They've made this chore a no-brainer, which just goes to show they really do know moms like me.

There will be two expos:

Upper East Side
Saturday, January 10
12-3pm
St Jean Baptiste School
173 East 75th St (bet Lex & 3rd)

Upper West Side
Sunday, January 11
Congregation Rodeph Sholom
7 West 83rd St (bet CPW & Columbus)

This event is free, but if you register you have a chance to win a trip for four to Frost Valley.
