Just because Labor Day has come and gone doesn’t mean the fun has to end. Whether it’s going on a family bike ride, learning how to be a farmer at Stone Barns, or even traveling a little north for the NY Renaissance Faire and the Bear Mountain Oktoberfest, there is something out there for everyone. So get out there and enjoy the beautiful weather September and our area have to offer.

New York Renaissance Faire – Tuxedo Park
Travel back in time to enjoy games, rides, arts, crafts, food, music, dance, and performances as you stroll through 30+ acres in Tuxedo, NY. And don’t forget to cheer on your favorite knight in the Joust Tournament.

Holy Trinity Greek Festival – New Rochelle
Families can head to New Rochelle for some rides and games and to celebrate Greek culture the best way possible: food/dessert, music and dancing. There are plenty of vendors for clothing, gifts, toys, and jewelry as well. $2 donation; kids under 12 are FREE.

Bear Mountain Oktoberfest – Bear Mountain
The fall festival of German music, food, beer, and vendors galore also offers an easy hike around Hessian Lake. Dressing up is highly encouraged! FREE admission; $8 parking fee. 

American Gold Cup - North Salem
This event runs now through Sunday. Enjoy lots of family friendly activities in addition to the horse jumping events, including the JustWorld International horseless horse show for kids, shopping, celebrity sightings and more. Weekday events are FREE and weekend events are $15 for adults; $10 for kids.

SATURDAY

Crafts at Lakeshore - Scarsdale 
Lakeshore invites little ones to create a fancy feathered owl (2 – 8 year olds). FREE

Westchester Circus Arts Open House - Tarrytown
Is your little one ready to join the circus? Westchester Circus Arts is hosting an open house this Saturday. Try a class and have some fun. Pre-registration is required. FREE

SUNDAY

Bicycle Sundays – Yonkers to White Plains
Parents and children can enjoy the beautiful September weather on wheels, as the Bronx River Parkway gets closed to automobiles; only a few Sundays remain to take advantage of this treat. FREE

Egg Collecting – Pocantico Hills
In beautiful Pocantico Hills, families can learn how to be a farmer at a hands on event at Stone Barns. Each participant gets to take home a pack of eggs! $10.80 for members; $12 for nonmembers.

BEYOND WESTCHESTER

If you're heading into NYC this weekend, the Brooklyn Kite Festival is on Saturday. And in Connecticut the First Annual Schooner Festival is going on all weekend long.
