Now that school is officially out for most of NJ, it’s really starting to feel like summer! If you’re planning to stick around town, New Jersey is full of warm weather fun and you’ll find plenty to do in every corner of our state. Check out the Puerto Rico Festival at the Camden Children’s Garden, catch fireflies at Terhune Orchards or sit back and take in a kid-friendly performance of Cinderella at the Washington Crossing Open Air Theater. New York Giants Health Expo (East Rutherford, NJ)
The four-time Super Bowl champion New York Giants and NBC 4 New York are teaming up to host the 1st annual New York Giants Health & Fitness Expo at MetLife Stadium this weekend. There will be plenty for families to do, including a “Giants Experience,” where football fans will have the opportunity to catch a pass in the end zone or even attempt a field goal! Stick around for free physical fitness testing, Bergen County Police K-9 demo, a motorcycle display and safety tips and even a chance to meet Snoopy! Saturday & Sunday 11am-6pm. FREE.

Puerto Rico Family Festival (Camden, NJ)
Whether you’re looking to connect with your Latino roots or just learn more about Hispanic culture, stop by the Camden Children’s Garden this weekend for the Festival de Aibonito. The vibrant festivities will feature a garden of tropical plants, Hispanic arts & crafts and Puerto Rican games. And don’t forget to stop by the snack stand, featuring tropical fruits and other delicious native treats! Saturday & Sunday 1-4pm. $6/Person, Children under 2 are free. 856-365-9741

Disney’s Cinderella Kids (Titusville, NJ)
Looking for a some weekend entertainment? Take your little princess to see a kid-friendly performance of Cinderella at the Open Air Theater at Washington Crossing. Whether hearing the story for the first time or the tenth, it’s hard not to become enchanted as a mistreated girl falls in love with a prince, but first must overcome her evil stepmother and stepsisters. Throw in some singing and dancing mice and a Fairy Godmother and you’ve got a perfect first play for any little guy or gal. Recommended for ages 4 & up. The Great Outdoors Family Festival (Lincroft, NJ)
Join the Monmouth Museum in celebrating summer and the great outdoors at their family-friendly festival this Saturday. The festival will feature games and activities, live music, camping demos, nature crafts, story-telling, classic cars, miniature golf, boardwalk treats, souvenirs and guided tours through the museum’s ‘America Hits the Road’  exhibition. Stop by for a day of fun in the sun while learning all about the wonderful ‘stay-cations’ you and your gang can take right here in good old Jersey. 11am-4pm. FREE. 732-747-2266

Storybooks & Scones: A Children’s Afternoon Tea (Union, NJ)
What do a great book and a cup of tea have in common? The ability to transport you to another place & time! Head to Liberty Hall Museum this Saturday for a whimsical and fun tea. You and your little adventurer will enjoy yummy treats served on real china and have the chance to visit the dress up tent to wear the clothes of your favorite storybook character. You’ll spend the afternoon listening to fanciful stories and playing pretend. Advanced registration required. Recommended for ages 5 to 9. 1-3pm. $25/Person.

Firefly Festival (Princeton, NJ)
Certain things just remind us of summer: watermelon, picnics, the beach and of course, fireflies! Terhune Orchards is celebrating all that is summer with their Firefly Festival this Sunday. Enjoy an evening of nature, music, wagon rides, outdoor fun and of course, the whole farm for firefly hunting! Children will keep busy making their own wings, bug boxes and antennae. Throw in entertainment by the Big Kids Band, a mini obstacle course and traditional farm fare such as corn on the cob and homemade pie, and you’ve got yourself a pretty awesome June evening! 4-9pm. FREE ($5/Person fee for firefly craft).

Fairy Day (Morristown, NJ)
Fairies are coming! Bring the family to the 7th Annual Fairy Day and create a house for The Frelinghuysen Arboretum’s visiting fairies, just in time for the Summer Solstice. Greet the fairies with music and fairy snacks and learn which plants and trees will attract fairies to your own backyard. All supplies – bark, branches, lichens, mosses, feathers, stones and leaves – will be provided, or bring your own as long as it’s natural. Pre-registration is required.
