Love is definitely in the air, whether you’re up for a full-on dose of sugar at the Morris Museum Chocolate Festival or the Sweetheart Teddy Bear parade at the NJ Children’s Museum. Looking for some off beat fun? Check out a flick at the Kidz Film Festival or listen to the songs of folksy favorite Swingset Mamas. Atlantic City Boat Show (Atlantic City, NJ)
Forget that we’re in the middle of dreary winter and head to the Atlantic City boat show. The impressive array of luxury motor and sailing yachts to sport fishers, performance boats, inflatables and personal watercraft will have you dreaming of summer. Also visit the show’s ‘Marine Marketplace’ featuring 440 booths showcasing all the latest in marine technology, engines, accessories and nautical gifts. Whether your family is new to boating or you consider yourself quite the captain, the boat show can be a fun weekend outing for all ages. Saturday 10am-8pm & Sunday 10am-5pm. $15/Adult, Kids under 15 are FREE with a paid adult. 718-707-0711

Kidz Filmz: Film Festival (Manasquan, NJ)
Kidz Filmz is a joint venture between Algonquin Arts Theatre and the Garden State Film Festival with the mission to provide educational enhancement and creativity through films that are for children as well as by children. Choose from one of six different screening times throughout the weekend or even take part in the festival’s one hour workshop ‘Animation Nation’ on Saturday at 11am. The audience choice award, Pick of the Flicks, will be announced at the conclusion of the final screening on Sunday afternoon. Recommended for ages 5 & up. Saturday & Sunday at various times – please visit the Algonquin Arts Theatre website for a complete festival schedule and to purchase tickets. $7/Adult per screening $5/Child per screening or $20/Person all weekend access pass.

Sweetheart Teddy Bear Weekend (Paramus, NJ)
Visit the New Jersey Children’s Museum this weekend with your sweetheart and their favorite stuffed animal friend. The kids will get to make cards for their loved ones and hear special Valentine's Day stories during story time. Be sure and bring your stuffed friend for the day to join in on the special Teddy Bear parade! Saturday & Sunday 10am-5pm. FREE with museum admission. 201-262-5151

Valentine's Day Sleigh Rides (Lambertville, NJ)
The incurably romantic can warm-up for Valentine's Day when Howell Farm offers sleigh rides and other sweet treats this Saturday.  Rides in the Farm's circa 1900 sleigh are for married or courtin' folk only, and are offered free, on a first come, first serve basis.  Families and other visitors will be invited to ride on a horse drawn wagon or bobsled. Visitors can purchase cakes, cookies and other delights, as well as hearty lunch fare.  Kids will also keep entertained with a Valentine’s Day craft – a Valentine Candy Cone to take home! Chocolate Festival (Morristown, NJ) - DUE TO WEATHER THIS EVENT IS RESCHEDULED TO FEBRUARY 16th
Need a little help getting into the Valentine’s Day spirit? Head to the Morris Museum with the kids in tow on Saturday for their scrumptious Chocolate Festival. Try your hand at donut decorating, play ‘name that chocolate’ and collect goodies throughout the museum. Still hungry for more? Craft a V-Day love bug or a cupcake creature magnet. Be sure and stick around to check out some of the museum’s mainstay exhibits such as the Dinosaur Den or the Model Railroad Gallery. 11am-4pm. FREE for museum members, Non-members $10/Adult $7/Child.

The Improvables (Watchung, NJ)
Check out The Improvables, the Watchung Arts Center’s cast of hilarious characters – the seasoned group has been performing to crowds of families for 8 years. Each show is a new experience, full of funny sketches. The troupe performs a series of “games” in which they act out various scenarios without knowing in advance what they are going to say or how things are going to turn out. The audience often sets the scenes for the players on-the-spot and may be pulled up to join in the fun! Recommended for ages 6 & up. 8pm. $8/Person. 908-753-0190

Lovin’ Nature Valentines (Mendham, NJ)
Stop in the Schiff Nature Center this Sunday to warm up and make one-of-a-kind nature themed valentines for your children's friends, or your own! Each participant will make 15 valentines, and additional supplies can be purchased. Still have energy to spare? Bundle up and take a winter nature walk along one of their many preserved trails. Super Scientific Circus (South Orange, NJ)
The South Orange Performing Arts Center hosts the Super Scientific Circus starring Mr. Fish and Trent the Mime – and they’re out to prove to kids that science can be both fun and funny. Alternately assisted and foiled by the comedic antics of Trent the Mime, Mr. Fish uses amazing circus skills involving boomerangs, bubbles, beach balls and magic to introduce the principles of aerodynamics, sonic booms and ultraviolet light. Recommended for ages 4 & up. 2pm. $16/Person.

Swingset Mamas (Township of Washington, NJ)
Parents’ Choice Award-winning duo, Swingset Mamas, will perform at the Bergen County YJCC this Sunday. Their energetic music is inspired by the rhythms and realities of every day life and will have little ones (and parents!) tapping their toes. The songs are upbeat and the lyrics are catchy, often with an ‘educational’ component that touches on topics such as self-esteem, water safety and telling time. 3:30pm. $35/Family of 2, $40/Family of 3, $50/Family of 4, $55/Family of 5 or more. 201-666-6610 ext 5662
