Theater Party
New Jersey's December theater offerings are perfect for kids. The Paper Mill Playhouse is featuring Elf from November 26 to January 4. The Levoy Theater  will be featuring several holiday plays including Oliver and The Polar Express. Finally, what's a holiday season without The Nutcracker? The NJ Ballet Company will be performing this beloved classic throughout the state. Tweens, especially, will love celebrating their special day by taking in dinner and a show with a few of their best friends.

Baking Party
Cooking and baking parties are a great way to celebrate a holiday birthday. Millburn's Splurge Bakery offers a variety of baking parties for kids ages 4 and up. Many of their party options include gingerbread house decorating. Party packages at The Lollipop Shoppe , located in Sewell, offer cupcake decorating, candy sand art and candy bar creation.  With a red and green theme, this sweet party can have a great holiday vibe. Other great baking party venues include Young Chefs Academy and Aunt Selma's Chocolate & Candy Company .

Holiday Pottery Painting
Pottery painting is fun year round, but it is especially fun during the holiday season. Have your guests each make a holiday cookie plate or paint some holiday themed pottery. Time to Kiln, in Red Bank, offers party options that include painting, mosaics and stuffed animal "critter" parties. Color Me Mine, located in Summit, offers a party package that allows the host to choose items for their guests to paint, allowing for some great holiday themed fun. The Pottery House, in Matawan, and Cranford's Fire Me Up also offer party packages.

Swimming Parties
We've all heard of Christmas in July. Why not celebrate with a summer theme during the holidays? Kids will be thrilled to jump into the water and celebrate at one of New Jersey's great water parks or indoor pools. Sahara Sam's Oasis offers year round birthday parties. Party guests will love to swim, slide and surf in this climate controlled water park. The Safe Splash Swim School, with locations in Paramus and Hasbrouck Heights, also throws birthday parties year round.  Your guest will enjoy swimming, fun and games in their warm water (90 degree) indoor pool. Some other great swimming party venues include Co Co Key Water Park, located in Mount Laurel, and Dosil's, located in Middletown.

Ice Skating Parties
Throw a "Winter Wonderland"  or "Frozen" party at one of New Jersey's great ice rinks. The Winterland Ice Skating Rink, in Glassboro, will upgrade any party to a "Frozen" party. Guests can enjoy skate time and pictures with Elsa. Parties also include a private party room, pizza and ice cream. If your local ice rink doesn't offer a "Frozen" party, consider hiring your own Elsa. My Fairytale Party offers authentic character actors that have extensive theater backgrounds and are thoroughly trained on how to keep your little guests smiling.

Holiday Tea Party
As the temperatures drop outside, your child and her guests can get cozy at a holiday themed tea party. Invite your child's friends and their dolls to come, dressed in their holiday best, to a Plumkinville tea party. In addition to pastries, sandwiches and tea in their charming party room, party goers can also choose from a variety of party themes including Doll & Me, Spa and Cupcake Decorating. Want to throw a tea party in your own home but don't want to handle all of the details? Fab Princess will happily bring the tea party to you, complete with a tablescape, child size china, princess props and entertainment. Visit their website for details.
