Earth Day, held annually on April 22, falls on a Friday this year, and there's plenty going on throughout April. Hosted by by the Reformed Church of New Paltz, this fair will have music, food, children’s activities, green demonstrations and entertainment in a church picnic atmosphere.

Trailside Zoo Earth Day Celebration – Bear Mountain
Saturday, April 23, 2016
Make food for the bears and then watch them devour the treats in their den. There will also be Earth-friendly displays and activities, spring-themed animal enrichment, and the first 75 families can take home a free native tree seedling.

Hudson Highlands Nature Museum Earth Day Celebration – Cornwall
Saturday, April 30, 2016
Kids will receive a free Planet Protector Passport at the Outdoor Discover Center and can then receive stamps at each booth in the “Green Zone” and “Going Local” activity areas. There will be live music, games and storytelling; food will be available for purchase. FREE admission and suggested parking donation. Rain date May 1.

Storytime by the Lake – Poughkeepsie
Saturday, April 30, 2016
Held at Morgan Lake, this story time, song and game hour is best for children in grades pre-K through 2nd. FREE
