David Heatley is cartoonist, illustrator, and musician. He's the author of Deadpan, a comic book filled with dreams, portraits and autobiographical diary comics. His comics and drawings have appeared on the cover of The New Yorker, and in The New York Times, The Best American Comics 2006, An Anthology of Graphic Fiction, McSweeney's, Kramer's Ergot, Nickelodeon Magazine among others. He is the cover artist for Best American Comics 2007, edited by Chris Ware. Heatley lives in Queens with his wife, the writer Rebecca Gopoian, and their children Maya and Sam.
