The 4th Annual Kings County Fair will include a variety of rides and games for kids of all ages, tasty treats including corn dogs, cotton candy, funnel cakes and much more.

May 24-28. Museum hours: Monday - Friday 10AM - 5PM; Saturday, Sunday, & Holidays 10AM - 6PM.

The Intrepid will honor our service men and women. Pier 86 will be filled with displays, hands-on activities, and live performances. There will also be a free screening of Top Gun on the Flight Deck**, a Memorial Day Ceremony featuring the unfurling of a 100-foot American flag, a panel discussion focused on African Americans in WWII, and more. SHIPWRECK! Pirates & Treasure will capture your imagination and take you on an incredible journey through thousands of years of maritime history. Experience hurricane-force winds, pick up treasure with a robotic arm, and explore the mysteries of the deep. This exhibit features over 500 authentic artifacts, including gold and silver treasures, as well as the incredible science and technology used to work thousands of feet below the ocean's surface.

On display until May 25th. See a life-size X-Wing Starfighter made entirely out of LEGO's, and you can go inside of it too!

Catch-and-release fishing at the Harlem Meer is a favorite family and community pastime. Fishing poles are available to borrow at the Charles A. Dana Center, located on the north shore of the Meer. Picture ID required; instruction and bait are provided with the poles.

The Harlem Meer is a thriving aquatic ecosystem that supports a wide variety of fish, waterfowl, turtles, plants and microorganisms. Some of the fish living in the Meer include largemouth bass, pumpkinseed sunfish, bluegill sunfish, carp and chain pickerel.

The catch-and-release fishing schedule:

Tues-Sat: 10:00 am - 3:00 pm (poles must be returned by 4:00 pm)

Sun: 10:00 am - 1:00 pm (poles must be returned by 2:00 pm)

16 years and older require a NY State fishing license.  Kids  can fish without one.

Book Culture offers a free, weekly storytime.

Visit It Takes A Village every Friday for drop-in storytimes with music, stories, puppets and more. Hear songs, books and fables, and classic nursery rhymes with a special twist into an interactive and stimulating storytime specially crafted for babies and toddlers.

A new drop in, open play space for 6-18 month old babies at the JCC.  The play space is padded and has apparatus to climb, swing and jump on with an expert tumbling instructors on hand to assist babies and parents/caregivers with the equipment.

Thursdays & Fridays through May 31
2 – 2:30 p.m.

Learn what it takes to care for these creatures and even assist in an actual feeding. There will also be opportunities to meet a box turtle!

Greenlight is offering a weekly singalong/story time event for babies and toddlers each Friday afternoon. Visit the kids section for 40 minutes of favorite songs and stories for the littlest booklovers, led by Greenlight bookseller Jarrod and his trusty guitar.

StoryTime comes alive with puppets, songs, and yoga poses. Babies through 6 year olds (and their grownups) are invited to help lift stories off the page as they read and play yoga together, building literacy skills and healthy bodies in this action-packed class.

Explore the NY Kids Club at this all-new solar system themed Friday Fun for Everyone featuring an extended open play in the gym and galactically fun art projects. Children will design their own solar system sticker scenes, create celestial ornaments, be the star of their own photo shoot and participate in a cosmos themed sing along with a live guitarist. With pizza for the children and wine, beer and hors d'ouevres for adults, the sky's the limit at this family party!

Bring the entire family to Charlotte’s Place the fourth Friday of every month for Family Veggie and Yoga Night. Your children will love helping you work on poses that come easily and naturally to them. This fun, healthy class includes yoga poses that are accessible to people of all ages, and also emphasizes group and partner poses. Delicious veggie snacks will be served. There will be some yoga equipment available in the space but please feel free to bring yoga mats if you have them. Charlotte’s Place is a free space in Lower Manhattan. Open to everyone, it is supported and operated by Trinity Wall Street, an Episcopal parish in the city of New York.

Held every Friday pajama parties are a one-of-a-kind thematic "after hours" celebration for children 2.5 - 8 years featuring gym exploration, art, story, cooking, games, relays, and more. All parties culminate in a disco dance party, and dinner is provided.
