This workshop examines how ADHD truly impacts your child’s development and help you develop the tools necessary to help your child be successful in school, at home. And in life! Facilitated by: Cindy Goldrich, Ed.M. Parent and Teen Life Coach Using a combination of education and coaching, specific strategies are developed to help you: - Reduce the chaos and defiance that often occurs - Learn appropriate rules and expectations and have your child cooperate - Increase your child’s self-esteem and help them capitalize on their strengths - Reduce homework stress for you and your child - Bring back your joy and connection with your child

The Cultural Services of the French Embassy will present  some of Delpire’s books to pre school and school age children.  Books include the French edition of Maurice Sendak’s Where the Wild Things Are/Max et les Maximonstres and Crocodile Tears/Les larmes de Crocodile by André François.

Presentation includes artistic and interactive bilingual activities centered on Robert Delpire’s work. These activities will include the reading of books through pictures, the creation of a book cover, and a workshop to design monster masks.

Reservations required.

Wednesday is a suggested donation day.

The wonderful puppetry-musical group Yellow Sneaker Productions performs on Wednesdays at 10am. Some sing-a-longs promise puppets, but this is the only one in the area that has real marionette masters. Original songs, cute and colorful puppets, and amusing props complete the experience.

Together with their children, parents can explore a toddler classroom at Park West. Toddler teachers, education director and admission director will be present to discuss the Montessori philosophy as it pertains to toddlers and help parents experience first hand the gifts of Montessori.

Led by 92nd Street Y Parenting Center director Sally Tannen and New York’s top child psychologists and pediatricians, this weekly
discussion group is a great way for new parents to share experiences, learn from one another and make friends. Against the familiar backdrop of gurgles and squeals, parents can compare notes on topics from scheduling to strollers. Half the fun is watching the newborns relate
to each other.

Do you practice Elimination Communication (aka Diaper Free)? Or have you been meaning to try it, or wondering what it's all about? Please join our group of moms and babies for an EC meeting at Caribou Baby. Moms and dads, with or without babies, are welcome. First, from 10:30-11am, we will have an information session for families who are not familiar with EC and want to learn more about it. Then, the meetup will start at 11am and will be a chance for people to connect with families practicing EC currently. EC refers to babies that go diaper free. This is done in several other countries and is based on the principal that babies as early as newborns actually are aware of and have the ability to control their "elimination."  Kidberry’s drop-in Story-Telling Hour celebrates the joys of sharing stories.  The class leader will read books to children and children are invited to bring in their favorite books and tell their own stories. Each session includes music, singing and exercises for children and adults to work together to share and create stories.

Participants receive a clay pot to decorate with paint and a lovely spring flower. All workshops commence with a frolic in the Funky Forest. 

Children under the age of 4 years must be accompanied by an adult.

The 3rd Annual Kings County Fair  will once again include a variety of rides and games for kids of all ages, tasty treats including corn dogs, cotton candy, funnel cakes and much more. The years' Fair will also feature a new super spectacular ride from Italy and the only one in America - The Stinger, the World Famous High Flying Pages aerial trapeze show, Miss Vicenta and her Royal White Bengal Tigers and eqestrian Artistry performed by The Riding Donnerts with Miss Mercedes Ballerina on Horseback.
