Girl Scouts of Greater New York will help kick off the start of cookie season 2014 on National Girl Scout Cookie Day with a Cookie Premiere Party in Grand Central Terminal’s Vanderbilt Hall on Friday, February 7, 2014 from 8am–7pm. Parents and daughters can talk to girls about their sales strategies and business tips, about the cookie program, and about the Girl Scout experience.
The nearly $5 million NYC Girl Scout Cookie Program is part of the nation’s largest financial literacy and entrepreneurship development opportunity for girls, geared toward teaching them five essential skills - goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills, and business ethics.
Last year, New York City Girl Scouts sold over 1.2 million boxes of cookies. All of the proceeds – every penny – from the Girl Scout Cookie Program in New York City remain in the five boroughs and fund the Girl Scout Leadership Experience locally.
