The Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine is preparing to celebrate! The final stage of a 7-year post-fire interior restoration is upon us and on November 30, 2008, we will re-open the Cathedral in its entirety with a special ‘Service of Rededication,” a once-in-a-lifetime event. Plan to be part of the Rededication Celebrations as the entire length of the Cathedral is again revealed. The Great Organ will again be heard, the legendary Barberini and Mortlake tapestries will be in place and the Great Rose Window will sparkle from above.

Brooklyn Friends Winter Crafts Fair

This event features 45 local artisans selling unique holiday gifts, the fair offers locally produced food, carnival games, a book fair, and all-day entertainment for children and families.

From top to bottom, the school building will be a winter wonderland. Children from ages 2 to 12 will enjoy bouncing rides, face-painting, and carnival games, spend time learning about and producing old-fashioned holiday crafts, and help build life-size Gingerbread Men.

There will be strolling singers and a student jazz band, and a professional photographer's booth will be set up for holiday-themed portraits. From cupcake decorating to composting and karate demonstrations, there will be fun activities for all.

Childcare is available so that parents have opportunities to survey the vast array of fresh, local and inspired crafts and gifts from quiltmakers, potters, jewelers, needlework artisans,and apparel designers.
