NYSCI staff and engineering partners from NYU’s Tandon School of Engineering join forces for a week of engineering activities.

Learn about new areas of engineering and what current engineering students are researching and engage in hands-on activities that have been created by the NYU student engineers.

Schedule:

The Circus Lab
Daily, noon – 4 pm
During this Engineering Week event, witness a 17-year-old robot arm try out for a chance to join The Circus Lab’s troupe! A project by Double Take Labs.

Build With Dowels
Feb 15 – 16 & 18 – 23: Noon – 4 pm
Design and build sculptures and structures using dowels, rubber bands and embellishments in Design Lab.

Civil Engineering Day
Feb 17, 11 am – 4 pm
Learn about civil engineering through interactive games, construction challenges, and hands-on activities presented by the metropolitan section of the American Society of Civil Engineers.

Build with Rigamajigs
Daily, noon – 4 pm
Collaborate, design and build large simple machine structures with Rigamajigs, a large scale building kit consisting of wooden planks, wheels, pulleys, nuts, bolts and rope in Design Lab.

Cardboard City
Daily, noon – 4 pm
Design and build an entire micro-city out of cardboard in Design Lab.

Design Time Demonstration
Daily, 1 pm
We are all designers, join the audience in repurposing household items to build an imaginative mechanism to meet a challenge while using NYSCI’s design process.
