Build with giant foam blocks, experiment with shadows, and get an introduction to sewing this weekend at NYSCI.
Rockwell Blocks
January 19 – 20, 2013; 11 am – 5 pm
January 21, 2013: 10:30 am – 4 pm
January 22 – 24, 2013: 10:30 am – 1 pm
Set your budding builder, artist or inventor loose among oversized foam blocks. Kids of all ages can use the foam blocks to build structures and sculptures, tear them down, and then start all over again. Free with NYSCI admission.
ShadowPLAY

Experiment with colorful lights, shadow puppets, colored gels, and tubes in this unique exhibition. Free with NYSCI admission.
Little Makers: In Stitches
January 20; 10:30 am – 12:30 pm
A colorful intro to the patterns and practices of sewing. $8 per family, plus NYSCI admission ($5 per family for members). Preregistration is recommended.
