15 Questions for a Westchester Parent Blogger:

What are your favorite NYC activities to do with your kids?
A. Botanical Gardens. Bronx Zoo. (Both are a 10 min. drive from my house.)

What’s your perfect NYC day with kids?
A. Walking the Brooklyn Bridge and eating pizza at Grimaldi's.

What do you like most about living in Westchester with kids?
A. Having the city close by -- so we get the chance to do only-in-NY-things like see JK Rowling or Yankees games. But still have a yard and trampoline.

What’s your favorite kid store?
A. Target. It's my favorite store period.

What’s your take on Westchester schools?

A. They are excellent. No complaints. Seriously. Move out here. : ) We have a son and two daughters at our local elementary and we are beyond pleased. Great programs. Great faculty. Very involved community.

How do you roll?
A. A VW Eurovan.

Best baby gadget?
A. A pacifier. No. A good baby blanket. No. Both.

Favorite toy?
A. A Ball. Beach ball, bounce ball, kick ball, whatever. Ball = endless games.

Favorite Children’s book?
A. Oxcart Man by Donald Hall

Best kid friendly restaurant?
A. City Limits Diner

Favorite day trip?
A. Saugerties Lighthouse (http://www.saugertieslighthouse.com/)

Best kept secret?
A. Rockwood Hall. A walking park on the Hudson that used to be a Rockefeller estate. My favorite spot in Westchester. And it's free. (http://www.hudsonvalleydaytrips.com/6_Counties/Westchester/North_Westche...)

Best Kid Design?
A. So much great stuff out there! For New Yorkers, don't miss the collection that Romp in Brooklyn has put together. (http://www.rompbklyn.com/)

What blogs do you read?
A. I'm well aware of all the difficult bits of parenting. And after 5 kids, I have most the mechanics down pretty well. So the parenting sites I crave are the ones that celebrate parenthood.

Keep NYC Great

Theatreworks brings affordable, high-quality professional theater to 3 million NYC children each year, including 80,000 free tickets to TItle 1 schools, and employs 400 artists. They've already cut their NYC resident season. Let's help keep this institution alive by donating as little as $1.
